Interested in entering your short film in the 3rd Annual Rochester Independent Short Film Festival? Great! Please be sure to download and print off both of the forms below and include them with your entry fee check when submitting your film. Your submission must include 1) a submission form, 2) signed rules form, 3) entry fee check, and 4) your film clearly labeled and in one of the formats set forth in the rules. All submissions must be received by MLT Group no later than 5pm on October 25th, 2007. Please see the FAQ, Submission Form and Rules (below) for more information.

Film Festival FAQ

1. What is the Rochester Independent Short Film Festival?
The Rochester Independent Short Film Festival is a short film and video contest with public showings of independent video/film works, and a chance for residents of Southern Minnesota to come together to celebrate the art of creative video production.

2. When and where is the festival held? Does it cost anything to attend?
The film festival will be held at the Cinemagic Theatres Hollywood 12 location. (2171 Superior Drive N.W. Rochester, MN 55901)  Showings are daily from November 9th through the 15th 2007, with a special Red Carpet event on Friday evening November 9th, 2007. (Check this site and the Cinemagictheatres.com site for specific showing times as we approach the event. Admission is $6.00 per person*

*Proceeds from admissions go toward festival expenses and a Best Student Film Grant

3. Who can enter a film in the festival?
Anyone who has an original film** may enter the film in the festival.
**Film or video projects in DVD or DV formats (such as Mini-DV, DVC Pro, DV8, etc.) are accepted for this festival.

4. Does it cost anything to enter?
There is an entry fee of $12 for college students and $24 for non-students per film submitted. A separate entry form, rules form and entry fee must be submitted for each film entry.

5. Is there a registration deadline? How do I enter?
All submissions must be received by MLT Group no later than 5pm on October 25th, 2007.
Entries (film, entry form, signed rules form & entry fee) should be mailed to 411 North Broadway Rochester, MN 55906 or delivered in person to the MLT Group offices at 411 North Broadway, Rochester, MN. during normal business hours (9am to 5pm M-F)

6. Are there going to be any awards or prizes?
There will be Ten prizes awarded: Best Picture (first place: $500; second place: $200; third place $100), Best Visuals ($100), Best Audio ($100), Best Special Effects ($100), Best Original Script ($100), Best Male Performance ($100), Best Female Performance ($100) and Best Student Film ($100 plus a $1,000 grant to the student’s school).

7. Who is going to judge the films?
There will be a panel of independent judges including local film critics and notables.

8. Are there any rules the contestants must follow.
